Ontario Bloodhound Rescue's Participation in the 2012 Basset Bustle Extravaganza!
PLEDGE FORMS HERE May 25-26, 2011 11:30-3:00 Hamilton/Burlington SPCA, Hamilton, Canada Ontario Bloodhound Rescue is in full swing planning our participation in the Basset Bustle Extravaganza Picnic, hosted by Basset Hound Rescue of Ontario. This year is going to be AMAZING with so many Bloodhounds and their humans who have already marked their calendars for this not-to-be-missed event. If you haven't already marked your calendar for your Bloodhound's social engagements, now is the time!
We are expecting hundreds of bloodhounds, basset hounds and their people from across Canada and the U.S. to descend upon the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA off-leash dog park on May 26, to help us all celebrate our dedication and love of our hounds and to support Ontario Bloodhound Rescue. The event will kick-off at the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA off-lead dog park (www.hamiltonspca.com). From there you can let your bloodhounds off-leash to mix and mingle in a safe and protected environment and enjoy the day-long party with the bloodhounds and bassets. There will be lots of media to record the largest gathering of bassets and bloodhounds in Canada, and you definitely don't want to miss that!
Support an Important Cause
The number of Bloodhounds in need of rescue increases significantly each year. Ontario Bloodhound Rescue is there to save as many as possible and we couldn't do this without the kind and generous support of people like you. This event is our largest fundraiser of the year. As you know, every penny raised goes directly to helping those bloodhounds who need us.
This year we are asking our supporters to collect pledges for their participation in this event. Every pledge, no matter the amount, goes a long, long way in helping those less fortunate Bloodhounds in need. Printable Pledge Forms are available here

Not only will every penny of pledges raised help many, many Bloodhounds on their way to a wonderful life, our very own supporter Andrea Brehl, has creatively and generously crafted a beautiful, royal dog bed to be won by the person who collects the most pledges.  Party with the Hounds all WeekendFor those travelling to attend the big Saturday Picnic a block of rooms have been reserved at the pet and people friendly Mohawk Residence and Conference Centre, just a few short minutes from the picnic park. The very modest room rates, which include breakfast, also feature oversize 2 bedroom suites and lots of green space. This will allow you and your Bloodhound(s) to party with us all weekend. Rooms can be booked for Friday, May 25 only or book for both Friday and Saturday, May 25th/26th.
There will be a big, indoor, pre-picnic pizza party just across the parking lot at Mohawk College, on the Friday night, for all of our supporters, admirers, guests and their dogs. Please note: this is a change in room for the pizza party this year. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you there. Please join us from 6:30-9:30 pm. There will be a quirky little contest or two with great prizes and some very yummy pizza from a local Pizzeria and lots of goodies.

Suite configurations consist of two private bedrooms, bathroom and a kitchenette. All guest suites feature air conditioning, cable television, and free local calls. Our special discounted group rate is $79.95 (based on 1 - 2 adults per suite).
**Please note: Mohawk has implemented a per night pet fee to cover additional cleaning costs. This fee is normally $20 but has been discounted to $10 per night for this event.
